SIT back and relax in Pershore while experiencing a trip round Peru when a new show comes to Number 8.
Peter Searles is bringing his Hey Gringo - Through Peru show to town on Saturday, when he will be giving a hole lot more than a travel talk.
"From the moment his plane lands in Caracas (without his luggage), we're on a rollercoaster ride down unexplored tributaries of the Amazon, across the snow-capped peaks of the Andes and into the depths of some of the most brutal prisons in the world," said Number 8 spokeswoman Charlotte Saunders.
He tells of close scrapes and surprises involving drug-smugglers. Airline hostesses, Carmelite monks, Maoist guerrillas, Mancunian ornithologists, Amazonian Indians and French shamen, as well some other native inhabitants - crocodiles, jaguars and giant centipedes.
Peter came up with the idea for the show when he met actor and comedian Stephen Frost in a London bar. He was telling some of his travelling tales and Stephen convinced him to return and tell them to an audience.
He was encouraged by the response, developed his show and Through Peru went to Edinburgh, where it won praise from the critics before heading off on tour.
"If you have ever been or ever wanted to go to Peru, then this is sure to be better than any travel guide around," added Charlotte.
Tickets are £8 for the show this Saturday and are available on the door at Number 8 in High Street, Pershore, or in advance by calling 01386 555488.
