THANK you for your excellent coverage of the county council elections. However, I would like to respond to the Conservatives' statement that Labour has not been active in the St Mary's division.
Over the last three years we have put up strong campaigns for the district council in both Broadwaters and Oldington and Foley Park - wards that cover most of the county division of St Mary's.
The hard work of previous district council candidates Steve Hill, Jim Brown and John Gretton laid the foundations for Paul Mills' victory this month.
Paul Mills, unlike most councillors, is not one to blow his own trumpet - his victory is due to both his own hard work during the campaign and his track record.
Paul is a well known, experienced and highly respected trade unionist for the Community Union at Brintons Carpets. He has also devoted many years of his life to coaching hundreds of local youngsters in football skills.
He is exactly the type of person we should have as a county councillor representing some of the more neglected parts of Kidderminster - this is why we selected him as our candidate.
