CHADDESLEY came within just six minutes of being the first team to beat West Midlands Division Two champions Parkfield Leisure in the league this season, but the match ended all-square at 1-1.
Chaddesley took a deserved lead in the first half through a solo strike by Werekogza Okenedu following a pass from James Dale. The match should have been wrapped up early in the second half when Chaddesley wasted two early chances.
The last 20 minutes showed why Parkfield are the champions, as they pressed hard to preserve their unbeaten record and were duly rewarded six minutes from time when Matt Curley powered home a header from close range.
Chaddesley manager Martin Westcott said: "We competed, and at times outplayed the best side in our division.
"Some of our football was excellent. We lack an out and out goal scorer, which we are working on. However, we were impressive".
