NEW brochure, new events, new season - Chipping Norton Theatre has plenty lined up for the summer ahead.

Theatre events begin on Wednesday and Thursday, May 25 and 26 with a performance of Kafka's The Metamorphosis, when the New York-based Black Moon Theatre Company will be telling the classic story of Gregor Samsa's transformation into an insect, using live action, dance and black and white film.

The season of drama continues with Don Quixote, The Last Night of La Mancha, on Thursday, July 7, The Reduced Shakespeare Theatre Company's famous Complete Works of Shakespeare on Saturday, July 9 and Jane Austen's Persuasion on Wednesday, September 7.

This Saturday, Daby Tour and Band kicks off the music season. West African Daby blends the sounds of Africa, Paris and international pop and has last year his following grew when he supported Peter Gabriel on tour.

Coming up for music fans is also Ga-Ga - A Tribute to Queen on Saturday, June 4, The Pirates of Penzance on June 9 to 11, The Soldier's Tale by the famous Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields on Thursday, June 16, Jacqui Dankworth on Saturday, June 18, The Green Branch with singing star Sally Bradshaw on Sunday, July 10, the Pat Crumly Quartet on Friday, September 2 and a night of rock 'n' roll with State 51 on Friday, September 9.

Children's and family theatre includes The Ratcactcher's Wife on Friday, May 27, The Snow Dragon on Saturday, June 4 and Fairly Tales on Saturday, September 10.

There is comedy in a stand-up double bill featuring Chris Addison and John Oliver on Friday, July 1 and dance fans will be booking up to see a visit from Ballet Central on Thursday, June 23.

Add to that an evening with ballet stars turned florists The Bloomsbury Boys on Saturday, June 25, The Joy of Wine show, Saturday, September 10 and a theatre in the round festival in July, incorporating a circus show, and mix in the usual film programme - which is touring village halls - art exhibitions in the gallery, children's holiday events and workshops for both youngsters and adults, there is sure plenty to keep Cotswold folk entertained into the autumn.
