At the Kidderminster branch's April indoor meeting, Gerry Griffiths hosted an identification workshop. Bird song sounds were taken from Witherby's Sound-Guide to British Birds.
The next identification workshop, concentrating on garden birds will be on March 22, 2006, at St Oswald's Church Centre, Kidderminster, at 7.30pm.
Members visited the Shropshire Ornithological Society's Venus Pool and identified 45 species, including lapwing chicks, oyster-catchers, Canada geese, and the common sandpiper, which was seen again the following day on Hurcott Pool.
On Sunday, members are meeting at 5pm in the car park next to the warden's lodge for the annual dawn chorus walk on Kinver Edge.
