WELLAND Juniors celebrated their end of season presentation day in glorious sunshine at the Upton sports pavilion last Saturday with everyone joining in the World Cup Day tournament.

The club welcomed the WRA's Colin Waldron, who presented the Charter Standard, and the Mercian League's George Silverman, who presented the U9s mini-soccer squad, with their shield and winners' trophies.

This season's club awards were: The John Craddock award for excellence was presented by Simon Craddock to U16s player Russell Alderson. The senior clubman was presented by Gordon Bennet to Tom Hynds (U15s). The junior clubman, presented by Luke Broadway, to Rory Matthews (U11s).

Other awards were: U6 manager's award Finley Owen; U7s manager's award Thomas McHugh; U8s manager's award James Jackson; U9s manager's award Sam Beech;

U10s manager's award Morgan Trimnell; U11s manager's award William Terry; U9s mini-soccer manager's award Rory Owen, players player Sam Rathbone; U12s manager's award Oliver Lewis, players player Scott Duffield; U13s manager's award Mike Cooper, players player, Alex Edward; U14s manager's award (Sam Clifford Memorial Trophy) Joe Forsyth, players player, Mark Green; U15s manager's award Kurt Doyle, players player Ben Rao;

U16s manager's award Joe Waldron, players player, Oliver Smith.

Thanks to everyone who came along and a special thanks to Gary Thackery, Danny Briscoe, Dave Martin, Malcolm Murray, Mike Roberts, Lee Manion, Mat Waite, Luke Broadway, Gary Baldwin, and Mick Bishop who did a great job refereeing the games. Thanks also to Hanley Swan FC for organising the pig roast.

The club is planning to enter an U18s team into the Stourport League next season and is looking for help with kit sponsorship.
