IN the first match, the Colts were a little edgy against a determined Juniors team.

In a tight game, the Juniors packed the midfield, so the Colts found it difficult to get their passing game going. Allison, Caffull and Jaye gradually started to dominate in midfield, but Doyle, Clack and Phillips in the Juniors' defence held firm, restricting Hale and Crane to half-chances. Steadily, the Colts exerted more pressure, so Butler in the Juniors' attack became isolated, making it easy for Roskams, Scullion and White in the Colts' defence.

In the second-half, the Colts had more and more possession and eventually pressure told. Powell delivered another excellent corner and Phillips, under heavy pressure from Crane, headed into his own net. Hale made way for Buckle, as the Colts saw out the game.

IN the second match, the heat started to take its toll on both sides but the Colts started brightly, with Buckle, Newell and Elmes providing fresh legs.

In a more open game, Crane was unlucky not to score after he created a chance for himself. Powell and Newell always looked threatening but, again, Doyle, Clack and Phillips defended stoutly. The Colts found the break-through when Jaye headed home a superb Powell corner.

In the second-half, the Colts still looked the more dominant. Edwards provided some extra pace down the left and midway through he went on a mazy run. As he weaved his way into the box, he was brought down. Despite a brave attempt from Spicer, White converted the penalty with power.

Hale grabbed a third courtesy of a post, when ball fell to him following a corner by Edwards. The Juniors rallied, looking for a consolation goal without troubling Johnson unduly. Colts saw out the season, claiming a double over their rivals, as well as a League and Cup double.
