Barratt West Midlands wants Malvern Town Football Club's ground at Langland Avenue to be redesignated for housing rather than open space.

The move will be pursued by the housebuilder at the inquiry. Barratt and the club linked up more than three years ago to pursue development of the site.

In its submission, the firm says: "The club's intention is for its existing ground to be redeveloped for housing in order to fund the club's relocation."

Consolidated Rank Properties is making a submission about land at Cales Farm in North Malvern, and Ciel Properties is arguing for wooded land between Worcester Road and Morrisons to be reclassified for housing.

The Benedictine community at Stanbrook Abbey, Callow End, has applied for the abbey site to be included within the village boundary, boosting its potential for housing development.

Supermarket firm Lidl will be making a submission about the former eurohaus site in Malvern Link and developments at North site and around the QinetiQ campus off St Andrew's Road will also be discussed.

A timetable for the public inquiry is on the MHDC website at www.malvernhills.gov.uk.
