BBC television journalist Michael Buerk will launch the new 154-mile Hereford-shire Trail by setting off on the first leg from Ledbury High Street.
Mr Buerk, who is a keen walker and whose wife was born in Herefordshire, will set off from the Tinsmith Alley Gallery on Monday, June 6, at 11am. Section 1 runs between Ledbury and Marcle Ridge.
The new trail is a circular walk that calls in at every market town and many villages on the way. The route was devised by members of the Hereford group of the Ramblers' Association, using public rights of way and making use of existing links to public transport.
Herefordshire Council tourism has published a 98-page book giving details of the walk. Copies, priced £5.95, are available from Ledbury TIC.
