A BROMYARD author's details are to appear on a list of the world's most accomplished and famous celebrities

Roger Lewis has been asked to submit details to Who's Who, after his biography of the late British comedian and actor Peter Sellers was turned into a Hollywood blockbuster last year.

The Life and Death of Peter Sellers was released on DVD last week.

"I'm doing lots of television and radio interviews, for all over the country," said Mr Lewis, who has lived in Bromyard for eight years.

"I'm currently compiling my entry for Who's Who, which is really nice."

His film, which was released in cinemas in October, was the British entry at last year's Cannes Film Festival and won two Golden Globe awards.

It stars Geoffrey Rush as the tormented Goon Show talent and face of the Dr Strangelove and the Pink Panther films.

Charlize Theron, Stephen Fry, John Lithgow and Miriam Margolyes headed the cast list.

Mr Lewis spent five years researching Seller's life, interviewing those who knew him best, including fellow Goon Spike Milligan, Harry Secombe and Michael Bentine.

The film reveals a tortured personality behind Seller's comic genius.

"I grew up within the time he was famous, and was fascinated by him," he said. "He was a great comedian, he was like the Jim Carrey of his day, but there was more to him than that."

Mr Lewis said he was not able to attend the Cannes Film Festival himself, but was invited to the Premier event in London, attended by cast and crew.

"It's a wonderful film, I'm very happy with it," he added.
