NORTHLEIGH'S Jamie MacKenzie took the gold in the Year 5 boys' race at the West Midlands Schools Orienteering Championships held at Jackson's Bank near Lichfield on Saturday.
Also among the medals were Heather Hartmann, who gained silver for the Chase in the year 9-10 girls' class, and Keiron O'Toole, of John Masefield, Ledbury, who took the bronze in the year 9-10 boys'.
Other good results came from Tom MacKenzie for The Chase - 5th among the year 7-8 boys and Daniel Hartmann edged into 4th in a combined year 11,12,13 boys class.
Daniel, however, has just heard he has been selected for the GB junior Potential Tour to Halden in Norway this summer.
Other selections include Robert Farrington, of Wellington Heath, and Rosemary, Heather and Daniel Hartmann, who have all been invited to represent the West Midlands at the Junior Inter-Regional Championships.
