I REFER to the contribution from Brian Hunt ("Your Letters" May 14).
Has it escaped Mr Hunt's notice that great celebrations of VE Day also took place across Europe?
To suggest that anyone is seeking to "give this wonderful and proud country to Europe by capitulation" is nonsense, of a kind which surely could only come from this correspondent.
Of course Mr Hunt had to vent his blind prejudice against Mr Spiteri and myself.
I can assure him that I have not the slightest intention of having a rethink on Europe.
The EU has been a great factor in preventing another conflagration engulfing the continent.
Incidentally, I attended the commemoration of VE Day in Worcester. Did this correspondent?
