WORCESTER Nomads Cricket Club held a auction at Worcestershire County Cricket Club and, thanks to the generosity of many local businesses and the commitment of the club's members, raised £950 for the Acorns Hospice.
Club secretary Andy Leach spent months organising the event and was fortunate to gain the expertise of local auctioneer adn BBC TV personality Philip Serrell, who spent the evening auctioning more than 70 lots.
Fran Winterbourn, from Acorns Hospice, thanked the club for its generosity. She was handed a cheque by Andy Leach and Malcolm Jones, wearing the club's new shirts sponsored by Hylton Garage, Derek Austin General Builders and BJS Property Services.
