JOHN Trewick has ruled the roost over Hereford United's newest league rivals -- admitting the non-league return of Kidderminster Harriers provides the most spice.

Harriers are one of five new clubs gearing up for Nationwide Conference action next season following their relegation.

Cambridge United also suffered the drop from Coca-Cola League Two, while respective Nationwide North and South champions Southport and Grays Athletic join the party.

Altrincham also took their place after winning last Sunday's Nationwide North/South play-off final and bookmakers have already installed them as favourites for the drop.

Bulls' coach Trewick anticipates major changes among the promoted sides and identifies duels with derby rivals Harriers as highlights for United supporters.

"Kidderminster is a bit of a derby and it's certainly going to be of interest for people locally," said Trewick. "For spectators, it's not too far to travel and I'm sure our supporters are looking forward to those games. And I

suppose from the club's point of view, there should be a big gate when Kidderminster come here.

"I don't know a lot about Altrincham. Obviously, they have come up from fifth place in their league. I'm sure now that they are up, they will build quickly for next season.

"We met Southport earlier in the season in the FA Cup. We beat them 3-1 in the end, but they played very well and I'm sure, like any other team coming up, they will look to strengthen."

Hereford are favourites following two consecutive seasons as runners-up but Trewick laughed off the close-season odds, pointing out that United have plenty of hard work ahead building for the new campaign.

He added: "Obviously, we've got a bit of work to do in the summer to get the squad sorted. We're not interested at looking at anything else or what people are saying about us.

"At the start of every season, you have to aim to win the league. That will be no different this coming season."
