TWELVE Worcestershire girls will line up in their nightclub wear to win glory in the Miss Worcestershire Contest - and also the adoration of a trucker who will drive a haulage lorry named after her.

The gorgeous girls with hearts of gold will also line up in their evening dress for the two-stage competition at the Malvern Theatres tomorrow at 7.30pm.

Also up for grabs is a shot at the big time - an automatic entry into the Miss England contest to be held in August. Each round will be accompanied by appropriate music which will include up-to-date dance, and appropriate 1960s tunes for the Evening Dress section. The contestants will also be asked a number of questions by the judges.

Proving the competition is not just based on looks, 19-year-old identical twin sisters from Malvern, Kate and Lucy Goody, will compete against each other.

Contestants will be marked on their appearance, personality and grace.

The judging panel includes four people from the hair and beauty industry, and two local personalities - Worcester Warriors rugby player Gary Trueman and a mystery sixth person.

As if a line up of beautiful women was not enough, a troupe of dancers, and the winner of the Chicago Rock Idol competition, Beth Harris will provide entertainment. Part of the winner's pot of prizes will be to have an Eddie Stobart truck named after her, and she will also be treated a ride in it. The 12 finalists will also be featured in a special one-off calendar for 2006.

A competition to raise cash for Cancer Research will also be held.

Tickets cost £10, and can be booked by calling Malvern Theatres on 01684 892277.
