MALVERN beauties Kate and Lucy Goody will be competing for the title of Miss Worcestershire.

But the judges may have trouble telling them apart . . .

The identical twins, both aged 20, will join nine other hopefuls for the event at Malvern Theatres tomorrow (Saturday).

They will be joined twenty-one year old Laura Collins, also from Malvern.

To impress the judges the girls will model evening wear and club wear and answer questions about themselves and the county.

The winner will have an Eddie Stobart lorry named after them and be entered in the Miss England contest in August.

The Miss England winner will compete in the Miss World final in China in December.

Each competitor will also feature in a Miss Worcestershire calendar.

"We're nervous but looking forward to it," said Lucy Goody, a former at The Chase.

Though she and her sister would each love to win, Lucy said there was no rivalry between them.

"We're really close so we don't compete against each other.

"We definitely both want to go into modelling, but would want to do it together if we could."

Lucy currently works at the Playhouse Nursery in Malvern, while Kate works in JJB Sports, Worcester.

Competition organiser Paul Da Silva, who runs a Worcester modelling agency, with partner Natalie Judge, said the event was the first of its kind in Worcestershire.

"It is fairly prestigious and photographers will be there, so it's a good opportunity for the girls to get themselves known," he said. "They get their hair, make-up and nails done, so it's a nice evening for them."

The girls, all aged between 17-24, submitted photographs and were interviewed at the agency.

"We like to talk to them about it all, so they feel they know us and can ask us questions," said Mr Da Silva.

The event begins at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 on 01684 892277.
