Maggot racing and gladiator duelling are two of the attractions at Northleigh Primary School's summer fair.
There will also be bouncy castles - one strictly for the grown-ups - face painting, cake and plant stalls, children's games and a Waitrose-sponsored tombola. Lunches will be served to music played by pupils.
The summer fair on Saturday, June 11, is the school's biggest fundraising event of the year and Admission is free. It will be open from 10.30am-2pm.
"There's a lot going on this year," said PTA Chairman Sigrid Wilson. "The maggot racing is a bit of fun and very popular with the children and we thought a bouncy castle for grown-ups would go down well."
