AMBITIOUS Adam Ward is aiming to take his Pershore Town side to the very top of the Midland Combination Premier Division next season.

The midfielder took charge of the King George V Playing Field club last November and arrested a terrible run of results that spelt the end for former boss Nigel Russell.

Ward is now determined to keep all the players that finished the campaign on a high and is keen to build a squad of around 25 by the end of pre-season.

He said: "Because we finished the season really well, a lot of players are now looking at Pershore as a club that is going places. Our reputation is improving.

"I'm keeping all my players from last season because they've done well.

"I'll be looking to start pre-season with about 30 or 35 players who I can look at, and I'll gradually trim that down.

"I'm aiming for promotion. I'll be wasting my time here if I did not think that way."
