COLWALL U11S made it two wins in a week, beating Rushwick by one run and Pershore by 26 runs.

Against Rushwick, Colwall came up against a strong side unbeaten this season. Batting first, on the Ghost Meadow, the Colwall openers Arthur Jones and Jack Cooney were disappointed to lose two early wickets. The bowling, however, was strong as next pair Bar Bartlett and Steve Wilson discovered, again losing two wickets. It was left to Neil Green and Alex Parker to steady the innings with Green hitting three fours. Last pair Joe Crichard and Chris Harwood played Colwall right back in the game with Crichard crashing six boundaries. Colwall finished on 258 for the loss of seven wickets.

In reply, Rushwick quickly got on top, scoring 26 from the first four overs. The next over bowled by Green, however, set the visitors back with four wickets falling in it. An eventful over saw two runouts and a fine catch by Jones. Further wickets then fell to Harwood (2) and Bartlett (2).

However, the last pair for Rushwick gradually eased the batting side back into the match. Into the last over, Rushwick needed 12 to win but finished just short.

In their match against Pershore, Colwall bowled first and struggled to get into their customary early rhythm. With ten overs gone, Pershore had moved on to 251 without the home side having taken a wicket. Colwall then struck back with wickets for Harwood, Green, Crichard and two for Bartlett.

The visitors finishing on 256.

Despite a fine opening spell of bowling, Colwall's Jones and Cooney got the home side away to a steady start. Only one wicket fell and both openers scored a good boundary. Bartlett and Wilson then continued to make inroads into the required total with Bartlett crashing two fine fours. Parker and Green, following on, battled with sensible caution before Parker added two more boundaries and Crichard (16) and Harwood kept the scoreboard ticking over to reach 282 for the loss of only one wicket.
