I COULDN'T agree less with Mr Rice's comments about the Priory bells.
They invoke a wonderful English ambience every time they practise on a Thursday evening or peal on a Sunday. We are privileged to have such a magnificent peal of eight bells played by an excellent team of ringers.
I might also remind Mr Rice that they belong to the established Church of England, which still has a strong presence in Malvern and his snide remarks about alarm clocks are simply insulting. Can you imagine the anger created if a similar letter concerning the Muslims' imam was published in a Birmingham newspaper? He could always move to a quieter area - the bells were here first.
