THE Environment Agency is calling on those who attend the Three Counties Show in Malvern at the weekend to make a pledge to do their bit for the environment.
In recognition of the United Nations World Environment Day, which took place on Sunday, June 5, the EA will be asking people to promise to make small changes to their daily lives, such as turning off the water when they brush their teeth. If 20,000 people were to do that then, according to the EA, it would save the equivalent of 88 Olympic-sized swimming pools of water.
People who visit the EA stand during the event, from Friday, June 17, to Sunday, June 19, will also be able to learn about angling, flood defences and fly-tipping.
"We have something to interest everyone this year and we would encourage people to come along to see what we are doing to protect and enhance their environment," said Lower Severn Area manager, Toby Willison.
