THE local point-to-point season ended with the Harkaway Club fixture at Chaddesley Corbett on Saturday.
Honours fell to Shobden trainer Steve Isaac, who saddled a double, and rider Lorna Brooke also scored two victories at the meeting.
The duo teamed up with Magicien in the Ladies' Open race after being sent off favourites to follow up their recent course win in the nine-runner field.
Once Brooke had allowed her mount to take the lead on the final circuit, they drew away steadily to record a six-length win from the chasing Returned Unpaid.
Isaac followed this in the next race with Chief Mouse capitalising upon the odds-on favourite Caught At Dawn breaking a stirrup leather and battling on well for rider Rob Hodges to score by six lengths, despite the trainer's pre-race fears about the ground.
The win completed a fine run of form for Isaac, who has saddled four winners in the past three weeks.
Brooke completed her double in the final race on the card when she rode her mother Lady Sue Brooke's Sir Sherif in the Maiden race and once again she demonstrated her growing abilities with a confident ride.
She took up the running at the third from last fence and stayed on well to win by a length from Jovian Pond.
Lady Brooke confirmed that Sir Sharif had originally been bought 'unseen' at the start of the season as a replacement for her daughter to ride. The young jockey had been away studying in America as part of her course at the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester.
