A CLEANER was rescued from a Worcester building society after accidentally trapping herself inside for two hours.
The woman was spotted by off-duty firefighters in the Portman Building Society, in the High Street, just after 8.30pm last night.
Three crew members, who had just finished a shift at Worcester fire station, yards away in Deansway, were walking past the office when their attention was caught by her banging on a window and waving her arms.
An internal locking system within the building society is thought to have prevented her from accessing a telephone.
The three crew returned to the station before a fire engine was dispatched and the woman was removed through a sash window and brought down on a 30ft ladder.
The Portman Building Society was unavailable for comment as the Worcester News went to press.
