A MAN was assaulted by a gang of four during an attempted robbery in Worcester.
The incident happened in St John's at about 9pm on Friday and police are appealing for anyone who saw the crime to come forward.
The attack took place as the victim was walking along the alleyway adjoining Our Lady Queen of Peace church, leading from Bransford Road to Bromyard Road.
His attackers, all between 20 to 25 years old, banged his head against the wall, knocking him unconscious.
The four men then ran off along the alleyway in the direction of Church Terrace, heading for Bromyard Road.
After recovering consciousness the man was treated by paramedics, who had been called by a passing pedestrian.
