Avoncroft 225-9 Worcester Dominies 97 all out
Avoncroft win by 128 runs
AVONCROFT ended their losing streak against Worcester Dominies in style in the Worcester League Division Four on Saturday.
'Croft, who had previously lost the last six encounters against Worcester, inflicted a crushing 128 run victory.
Avoncroft had actually made a poor start to the game earlier in the day, when they had been reduced to 39-4.
Dave Apperley (54) and Mark Whitehead (58) formed a powerful 105 run partnership to stop the rot.
Rob Harding's 32, including a six, added a late flourish as Avoncroft recorded a formidable total of 225.
Dave James (5-44) set about putting the pressure on Worcester's batsmen, dismissing Wilkes (0) and Hart (13) to set the tone for the rest of the game.
Captain Paul Athey (4-36) was also in fine form with the ball for Avoncroft.
Only captain Trigg (28) made any impact at all with the ball, but he was not supported by the rest of the his team-mates and once he was dismissed by Adam Rodway, Worcester were reduced for 97.
Avoncroft take on Enville at home on Saturday (1.30pm start).
