BROMSGROVE'S first team leapt to second in the Fearnley Worcestershire Sunday League by defeating Old Elizabethans.
Elizabethans had hit 298-5, but Jon Rose smashed 162 runs as Bromsgrove replied with 299-5.
Table topping Barnt Green suffered defeat at the hands of Stourbridge.
Green's opponents hit 263-4, but they were dismissed for 174 all out.
In the Second XI Division Ombersley defeated Coombs Wood, Barnt Green lost to Stourbridge and Droitwich defeated Astwood Bank.
l Avoncroft defeated Tanworth-in-Arden by one run in a friendly on Sunday.
Put into bat first 'Croft hit 158 all out, with Matt Hare (25) and Nick Riley (19) top scoring.
But bowler Mark Smith hit a rich vein of form, taking 5-24 and reducing Tanworth to 104-8.
Despite a last wicket partnership Avoncroft removed the last two batsmen with one run to spare.
