I was moved to write after reading about the poor, unfortunate cat (Advertiser/Messenger, May 25) who was found in Rockhill, suffering from air-gun wounds.
Having lain in agony for an unknown length of time, the cat was taken to a vet where he was found to be suffering from a collapsed lung and, sadly, had to be put down.
As an animal lover and civilised individual, I cannot even begin to understand this mindless act of cruelty, but would ask that if anybody thinks they know the person responsible, they should come forward.
Since the cat's owner is not known, I would like to offer a reward of £100. Perhaps other individuals may like to do the same.
Finally, a startling point - American researchers looking into the background of prolific serial killers, found that in every case, all had committed acts of animal cruelty in childhood.
