VICE president Christine Hickman-Smith welcomed everyone to the June meeting.
Business matters were discussed including our planned outings to Jonathons on December 9 for a flower demonstration and afternoon tea and a day trip to London on October 31.
Christine was pleased to announce that Rosabelle Needham had won first prize, a cup, for her flower arrangement in the county spring show at the Ramada Jarvis, Bewdley. Other members who had entered also did well and gained high marks.
The lunch club meets on July 7 at 12.30pm at Harvington Hall.
The speaker for the evening, Joy Pinder, had to cancel due to ill health. But two of our members stepped in and gave entertaining talks. Rosalie Palmer told us about her visit to a Buckingham Palace garden party with her husband and her two daughters. It had obviously been a very memorable occasion.
Rosabelle told us about her winning flower display, called seascape, and demonstrated a duplicate arrangement. She showed both artistic flair and horticultural skill. Teresa Forgil-Jenkins thanked both members for their contribution to an enjoyable evening.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 6, at 7.30pm in the village hall.
