JONATHAN Weedon will cap a memorable couple of weeks this weekend when he races for Gloucestershire in the South West Schools Athletics Championships in Bournemouth.
The 15-year-old pupil at Chipping Campden School qualified for the trip to south coast when finishing second in last weekend's 800m at the County Cham-pionships.
Jonathan's personal best time of 2.07.05 left him a mere 3/100th of a second behind his Cheltenham Harriers teammate Alex Cuth-bert.
Both boys had been in action for their club the previous weekend in the Mid-land Young Athletes League when Jon-athan helped his club to overall victory with fine displays in the long jump, 3000m, 400m and 4 x 100m relay.
That all-round effort followed his success in a five-mile cross country race at the Dover's Games when the teenager romped to victory ahead of a field of senior runners.
