The Very Rev Emmanuel Williams, dean of Christ Church Cathedral, Cape Coast, made friends in the town 11 years ago when studying church management at the College of the Ascension, Selly Oak.
On his return to Ghana he took over the running of the cathedral where he is assisted by four other priests.
Mr Williams, 57, is promoting the cause for aid for Africa.
