Chainwire inflicted the first defeat of the season on Barnards Green by four wickets in the County League Division Five, when Mark Meese took 3-27 and Stephen James 3-34.
The league leaders got off to an excellent start being 63-1 off 10 overs. But the introduction of James, Meese and Lee Stuart (2-30) to the attack slowed the run rate, and there was a steady loss of wickets.
W Brown (40) and Ratcliff (23) were the Green's top scorers in their final total of 165 all out.
In reply, Chainwire batted sensibly against S Metcalf (1-17) and M Brooks (2-38), the pick of the hosts' bowlers.
Good knocks by Russell Tovey (22) and Trevor Paddock (39) kept Chainwire in the hunt, but it was left to opener Matt Davies (46no) to steer the Kidderminster side home with a patient display of batting.
Chainwire reached their target to claim 20 points and climb to second place in the table, with seven overs to spare.
Scores: Barnards Green 165,
Chainwire 168-6.
