THE manager of Evesham Hospital Radio, Martin Brain, is backing the campaign with 2.5 kilo watts of sound.
He said he plans to spread the word and distribute and receive the Journal petitions at venues all over the Vale.
Mr Brain said two members of his family were patients on Izod Ward and he was worried that if the Willows and Bredon wards close, the hospital will go next.
"There are fears throughout the hospital and all over town that the PCT want to close it and sell the land for housing. If that happens it would be devastating for Evesham people."
He said at one point his mother-in-law was in Cheltenham Hospital and father in Evesham.
Mr Brain said: "I travelled something like 1,400 miles to Cheltenham and back before she was transferred to Evesham. Just imagine if the hospital closed and scores of people were doing the same. The staff on Izod ward are absolutely brilliant and doctors come in and see to their own patients. It would be a crime if that ended."
