ACTION at Worcester Racecourse went ahead as planned in the sunshine yesterday afternoon.
All six races on the card were completed, despite rumours circulating the meeting had been abandoned following a betting kiosk fire last Friday.
A combination of that and poor weather yesterday morning led to a lower turn-out.
But those who were there saw 25-1 outsider Blue Hawk, ridden by John Pritchard, win the Janet Lodge Birthday Handicap Hurdle.
Jenny Cheshire, of course owners Arena Leisure, said: "The problem was a lot of people thought we weren't racing.
"All in all it was disappointing from that point of view, but we had excellent racing and it was a great day."
