The Kidderminster branch met at 5am for the annual dawn chorus walk on Kinver Edge, led by a group member and National Trust warden. Birds identified included yellowhammer, wood warbler and swifts.
The annual Birdwatchers Summer Fair took place at Warwickshire Wildlife Trust's Brandon Marsh nature reserve, when the West Midland club's book, The New Birds of the West Midlands was launched.
Graham and Janet Harrison's book contains more than pages of information on the region's birdlife, with drawings by Steve Cale and colour photographs by professional wildlife photographers. On Wednesday, the annual summer evening walk will be around Dudmaston pools and woods, meeting just beyond the sawmill at 6.30pm.
