A JCB digger is believed to have been used to steal a £4,500 diesel compactor from a building site at British Camp, Malvern.
Thieves first broke into a building to get the keys to a dumper truck parked in front of a steel container where the Bomag compactor, also known as a wacker plate, was kept. It is believed they then used a JCB to lift the compactor on to their own vehicle. The building site is being used by contractors working at British Camp car park.
A police spokesman said that because the site was close to the A449, there was a good chance people might have seen something suspicious. The theft took place between 4.30pm on Tuesday (June 14) and 8am on Wednesday.
