HOW right Mandep Sohal Rice (Your Letters, June 3) is in the view about the 'tuneless cacophony' of the Priory bells destroying the peace and tranquillity of our Sunday mornings.
In years gone by they may have called a majority of the populace to the Priory. What percentage of the populace now attend the Priory services? I don't, my family don't and none of my friends and acquaintances do. To me they are even more irritating than the ice-cream vans which pollute our summers with their discordant tones (at least ice-cream vans leave us in peace on Sunday mornings!).
I say well done for expressing what many of us Malvernians have thought for many years. Perhaps now something can be done to give us non-Christians the opportunity of a lie-in on our 'day of rest'.
