ONCE again, your excellent newspaper highlights HGV turning problems at Upper Cross, Ledbury (Ledbury Reporter, June 10).
Thankfully, since the opening of the by-pass in November, 1988, traffic accidents are rare - as expressed by onlookers, bus and van drivers on Wednesday.
In your 150th year of news reporting, your newspaper's valuable contribution to the by-pass project should not be overlooked. The unstinting publicity and prominence given to photographic evidence of traffic chaos - coupled with accurate and dedicated news reporting - alerted the authorities to the urgent need of a link road for Ledbury. Your participation in community life is worthy of many congratulations and warmest wishes for the future.
MRS M E McBRIDE, Elmsdale Road, Ledbury.
