May I express a big thank-you on behalf of the Explorers, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers and their families, to the leaders and the back-up team of the 1st Leigh Scout Group for a fantastic 'Family Camp', held at Eastnor Deer Park last weekend.
The work the 1st Leigh Scout Group put into preparing the fun-packed weekend for 120 parents, carers and youngsters was enormous, but it is very much appreciated by all who attended.
Everyone, young and old alike, got involved in all of the activities, which included archery, orienteering, canoeing, water-slides and various other mind-boggling and physical team challenges, plus three hearty meals cooked on-site each day to keep us going!
Although we all live very busy lives and have a world of entertainment on demand at the flick of a button, we occasionally need a big reality check to make us appreciate what real fun is all about. So it's bravo to the local volunteer organisations like the 1st Leigh Scouts, who make us realise that underneath, we are all "big kids" at heart.
Thanks again 1st Leigh Scouts for a great weekend and making we who attended appreciate the true value of families, friends and good companionship.
