SO Mike Foster believes he was elected into office to save us from the perils of the roadside car trader does he? (Worcester News, Saturday, June 11).
If he actually spoke to a few more of his constituents than he currently does then he would realise that someone selling a few cars by the side of the road is actually quite far down on most people's priorities.
The business he refers to is probably born of the fact that since our local car auctions has ceased to trade (developers again!) there is nowhere in Worcester to buy a used car of a certain price.
The piece mentioned lots of points, none of which seemed to reach any valid conclusion. I wasn't sure if he objected to congestion, was concerned about heightened accident levels, or just hadn't seen his face in the paper for some time.
In the first two instances I would love him to point out how this was actually happening as both Worcester Trading Standards and South Worcestershire Police seemed to think there was no problem at all.
Instead of acting like a second rate, bumbling, retired detective, maybe he should concentrate on matters that affect Worcester - such as vagrancy, homelessness, rising crime, parking charges, the disgusting state of our local swimming pool, education and welfare.
I say good luck to the traders who are making an honest living and not scrounging off the state like everyone else.
And shame on you Mike Foster for a lazy, headline grabbing article that points to nothing more than the fact that you are so far removed from the 'real' people who you purport to represent, that it warrants an investigation all of it's own.
RICHARD MORSE,
Worcester
