THIRTY-three boys and girls from Malvern College were selected for the Malvern Hills Schools District team, which travelled to Nunnery Wood, Worcester, for the county championships on Saturday.
In warm and sunny conditions ,the college athletes performed very well. Nine gained personal bests in their events and four boys won county championship titles in six events.
They were: Jamie Pritchard, 800m in a PB of 2.16.0; John Brierly, 100m hurdles in 15.0secs and 400m hurdles in a new PB of 58.9secs; Sebastian Foy, 3000m in a PB of 9m 25secs; Ayo Afolabi (head of school), 100m and triple jump.
The boys go forward to represent Hereford & Worcester at the Mason Trophy Inter Counties Meeting at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham tomorrow (Saturday).
Two girls from Malvern College, Danielle Moyles and Katie Sloane, will also be in action at the Alexander Stadium, in the 1500m.
