BARNARDS Green entertained Redditch in a Sunday 1st XI Worcestershire League game at North End Lane.

Barnards Green skipper Golder won the toss and put Redditch in to bat. Redditch got off to a flying start with Protherough dispatching any wayward bowling to the boundary. The dismissal of Phealan brought Busfield to the crease, who followed Protherough's batting style.
Redditch where looking at setting a 300-plus total but with the introduction of spin, the dismissals of Protherough (71) by Clarke and Busfield by Drinkwater saw the Green begin to apply some pressure.
Tight bowling by Brookes, Flynn, Spencer and Drinkwater (5-34) saw the Green reduce Redditch to 200 all out.
Barnards Green got of the a good start with J Lewis playing positively before being dismissed by Phealan for 33. Golder and Hooper (20) took the score to 89 off 16 before Golder was dismissed for 33.
The introduction of Busfield saw the Green's run rate slow with the score on 106 off 26 overs.
Flynn (43no) and Clarke (20), however, dispatched any loose bowling from the other end to the boundary.
Drinkwater and Flynn saw the Green home (203-5) with some excellent batting and running between the wickets giving the Green their first Sunday League win of the season by five wickets.
