WORCESTER Nomads 1st XI travelled to Kidderminster Victoria on Saturday in the WCL division two and made amends for the recent weeks' poor form to come away with a nine-wicket win.
Kidderminster were asked to bat first. Steve Bowman and Ben Schiffman bowled superbly but without much success, beating the bat on numerous occasions. Schiffman was rewarded with one wicket but Dave Mitchell (90) rode his luck, being dropped twice. The spinners Geoff Taylor (2-42) and Sachin Khartade (7-36) were then introduced into the attack and Kidderminster went from 110-1 to 163 all out.
Malcolm Jones (50), Sachin Khartade (69*) and Paul Gardner then made short work of the task, and knocked the runs off in 28 overs, giving Nomads victory by 9 wickets.
Worcester Nomads 2nd XI entertained Kidderminster at Bransford on Saturday and won by two wickets. Kidderminster batted first and were bowled out for 143. Nomads' chief destroyer was Nic Lloyd, who took (5-35).
Nomads were given a good start by Huw Dimond (35) but then lost seven wickets for not many runs, Nic Lloyd then showed he could use the bat also and scored a valuable 30 runs when defeat looked on the cards. Anton Madzarevic and Paul Ranscombe then took Nomads to victory by two wickets.
On Sunday, Nomads 1st XI played Stourbridge Social at Bransford and won by 110 runs.
Nomads batted first and scored 184-9 off their 40 overs. The majority of the runs were scored by Geoff Taylor (27), John Ingles (43), James Smith (31), Malcolm Jones (21), Tom Harper (16) and Alan Mason (17).
For Stourbridge Social, the most successful bowler was N Humphries (3-24)
Stourbridge Social batted and never got on top off the accurate bowling and were bowled out for 74.
Only J Preston and M Gardner reached double figures. For Nomads, Dave Ash was the chief destroyer taking 3-13, backed by Jack Brain (2-8), Alec Isaacs (2-13).
Nomads won by 110 runs.
