EVESHAM United manager Dave Busst is hoping to persuade experienced defender Marc Burrow to stay at Common Road.

But he admits he faces a tough task with Travel Factory Alliance side Malvern Town poised to snap up the player.

"Marc has various work commitments that will make it difficult for him to commit to us next season," the Robins manager explained.

"I have spoken to him and told him he is part of my plans but there will be more travelling involved in the Southern League Premier Division and it may be that Marc's personal circumstances will dictate where he plays next season."

Malvern boss Neil Hunt has also been speaking to the player and is confident he will have convinced him to sign for the Langland Stadium side in time for pre-season training.

"Marc can play anywhere along the back-four or midfield and would be a massive signing for us," Hunt said.

"He played two or three games for us last season, is a Malvern lad and I'm confident that we can get him."

Hunt is also hoping to snap up Solihull Borough striker Mark Shepherd and Ledbury Town goalkeeper Craig Humphries.

With Nathan Jukes and Phil Preedy the latest players to pledge their future to Malvern, Hunt is confident his side can challenge for promotion and a place in the Southern League.

He said: "We will have the same players as last season but hopefully with the addition of three quality new signings."

Should Burrow move on, Evesham could have a ready-made replacement in Carl Adams.

The former Leigh RMI and Nuneaton Borough defender was a regular for Solihull Borough last season.

But Adams looks set to leave Solihull following the arrival of new manager Tony Dobson and a number of players from Rugby United.

"Carl has loads of experience, mostly in the Conference, and will be coming to us to do pre-season," Robins boss Busst explained.

"We have gone up to a better league so I am looking to bring in three new players -- a striker, a midfielder and a defender."

Meanwhile, Southern League Division One West side Bromsgrove Rovers have confirmed their pre-season friendlies.

They are: Tuesday, July 12, v Kidderminster Harriers home; Saturday, July 16, v Hednesford Town home; Tuesday, July 19, v Moor Green home; Saturday, July 23, v Bristol Rovers home; Saturday, July 30, v Welshpool home; Wednesday, August 3, v Walsall home; Saturday, August 6, v Redditch United away.
