A MUCH-changed Malvern Town side took to the field for this Worcestershire Senior Urn fixture against a young and talented Castle Vale side on Tuesday.
MALVERN TOWN 1, CASTLE VALE 4
For the first 30 minutes the game was even until Duncan Preedy slipped the ball to Des Cox, who turned quickly, losing his marker, and shot to the left of the stranded keeper for a 1-0 lead.
Vale equalised when man-of-the-match Aaron Smith held off three challenges before rounding Jamie Lambert for the best goal of the night.
Town could have restored their lead 20 minutes into the second half when Cox fired in. The ball beat the keeper but not the full back who headed over from one yard.
Vale got the ball to Smith once more and he rounded Chris Jones to find his strike partner Craig Evans who made no mistake finding the net for a 1-2 lead.
The lively Smith scored a fine individual goal before Town's Chris Jones clattered Smith when he was through on goal. As this was his second bookable offence he took no further part in the game. Sam Hawker drove the free kick through the wall for 4-1.
