HANLEY Castle HS year eight rugby team won the North Midlands Emerging Schools regional tournament after extra-time to qualify for the national finals.
As Worcestershire joint champions with Droitwich, Hanley won their league stage matches defeating Mary Webb 5-0, Great Barr 10-5 and Ridgewood 10-5 to qualify for the semi-final.
A 10-0 semi-final victory put them in the final against Ridgwood and they won 15-10 after extra time. Tom Dodge and player-of-the- tournament Josh Brookes both scored three tries and Charlie Smith scored four.
