THIS Labour Government now plan to spend millions of pounds of taxpayers' money on fees for students from mainland Europe, who will compete with British teenagers for places at top universities.
While our students get deeper into debt, EU students will be lent the money that officials privately admit will never be re-paid.
After September next year, when £3,000 top-up fees are brought in, the Government will pay fees to universities on students' behalf. British students will have to repay their debt when their earnings reach £15,000 per annum, but there will be no such obligation on those from countries such as France, Germany, Finland or Poland.
The Students Loan Company claims they will be able to collect outstanding monies as they will have full co-operation from the EU. That's a laugh. The Child Support Agency can't collect outstanding monies from reluctant fathers in this country! Well, I suppose we can add this cost to our annual contribution to the EU.
