THERE was fast and furious tennis action at Bromsgrove's Meadows First School on June 15. ANYONE FOR TENNIS?: Chloe Exley, Callum Stanley and Tom Haden all took part in the mini-tennis tournament at Meadows First School.
Boys and girls from the mini-red age group (aged seven) took part in a junior tournament at the school, which is on the Stourbridge.
Bromsgrove Tennis Club coach Richard Lawton arranged the event.
Lawton had showed all children who took part in the tournament the ropes throughout the school year.
He said: "The tournament was a lot of fun and all the children gained something from it.
"It's just a chance for them to see how far they have come and enjoy themselves."
Lawton has been teaching tennis at the school for the last three years.
l Bromsgrove Tennis Club has invited everyone down to take part in its open day on Sunday, June 26 (11am start).
A host of activities, including the tennis ball machine, speed gun and beat the coach, will be available to try out down at the club, which is in St Godwalds Road.
The event is also a play-tennis day, and newcomers can have their skills honed by the club's coaches.
Rackets are also available for those who do not have their own.
Lawton said: "It's going to be a great day. There will be a lot to do and it usually proves to be very popular with everyone taking part."
