ALVECHURCH manager Peter Frain is continuing a hectic summer of wheeler-dealing by targeting RC Warwick's former Studley striker Junior Hewitt.
Frain said he was 'quite close' to landing the striker from the Travel Factory Alliance mid-table side as he bids to strengthen his strike force.
The Lye Meadow boss has already secured a trio of new signings, one of them a familiar face to Church fans.
Former skipper and fans' favourite Paul Smith is back to reinforce the club's central defence after switching from Midland Combination Premier Division rivals Pilkington XXX.
And left-sided team-mate Earl Jordan has agreed to make the same move.
Frain has also brought in left-back Ian Woods from Division One side Knowle after seeing striker Liam O'Shea jump ship to Romulus.
And Andy Dodds has also stepped up a level to join Alliance team Oldbury United.
