REDDITCH campaigners are packing their white bands and banners and heading to Edinburgh to call on the G8 leaders to 'Make Poverty History'.
They will join tens of thousands of people from across the globe taking part in the rally on Saturday, July 2, to demand trade justice, debt cancellation and more and better aid for the world's poorest countries.
The campaign is being led by the largest coalition of charities ever assembled in the UK to fight global poverty. Supporters of the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD) are at the forefront of the campaign, mobilising youth groups, schools and churches.
Pam Cuthbert, of Mount Carmel Make Poverty History Group, said: "We need to go to Edinburgh and deliver this message to the G8 leaders. It's no good just talking about it, you have to take action and show them we'll no longer stand by and watch this atrocity continue."
