Avoncroft 255-9 Enville 205-7
Avoncroft obtain a winning draw
AVONCROFT maintained their good form in the Worcestershire League Division Three by obtaining a winning draw over Enville on Saturday.
However, they can count themselves unlucky not to take maximum points after a late unbeaten partnership by Willis and Harding gave Enville a draw.
Croft openers Matt Hare (21) and Dave James (24) started strongly but failed to capitalise as they were dismissed.
Croft's top order made little impact as they slumped to 124-7, before Jon Crowther (50), hitting six fours and two sixes, batted aggressively to get his side back on track.
Richard Doodey (32 not out) and Richard Harding (33) then upped the run rate late on as Avoncroft powered to 255-9.
Miller (35) and Ralphs (39) frustrated Croft's bowlers.
Dave Apperley though made the breakthrough when he dismissed Miller.
James (4-75) ploughed through Enville's batting order, removing Windsor (15), Ralphs, Taylor (14) and Tranter (13).
But Willis (39) and Jackson (9) proved to be stubborn opponents and remained until the end of the 55 overs.
Avoncroft start a run of games against the division's pacesetters on Saturday when they take on Feckenham away from home (1.30pm start).
